Love is in the air!

It will soon be valentine's day, so just about enough time to host a mini-valentine sale.

I have created three cards all ideal for valentine's day... and all at a special intro price of £1.50.

WOODEN HEART

This one is based on the hearts you see carved into trees. A chunky wooden illustration so that you can now declare your intentions without maiming any plant life!

TOGETHER

This card shows two little clockwork monkeys that someone had blu-tacked to a hole in the wall at my workplace. A genuine shot that wasn't rigged by me! So fantastic, I had to take a shot! Two little monkeys just made to be together :) I can also see this card being ideal for weddings and anniversaries too!

LOVE

Lastly, another graphic card. A red and pink heart pattern, with 'Love' in a white script... not a subtle card in any way! If your partner/valentine doesn't get the message with this one, well...

All of the cards are handmade, 6" x 4" with very 'green' credentials...

Printed on 100% recycled smooth white board. Each card comes with 100% recycled C6 brown craft paper envelope inside a clear bio-degradable bag. The bag is made from corn starch with completely breaks down to just CO2 and H2O (it can also be composted).

I've been Blogged!

Just a little thank you to both Silver Moss and Lauren Ceramics for mentioning me in their blogs this week. And a very belated thank you to Blackberry Crafts for choosing me as one of her Folksy 'Saturday Six' a couple of weeks ago, when I didn't have my blog set up!

Just click the links above to see their blogs, or the links below to see their Folksy shops:

Thank you all :D

The Great Folksy Blog Circle

There's nothing like a little shameless Folksy cross-promotion, we are a good bunch who help each other out!

Have you come across Silver Moss' hand-crafted sterling silver jewellery yet?

Lovely, affordable, handmade silversmithing inspired by nature…

These are my favourite things in her shop at the moment.

And yes, I do like circles :)

Concentricity II

After much faffing about(!) I have fallen out with my printer...

I have re-created my hand drawn 'Concentricity' mirror pattern in Adobe Illustrator (shown above) so that I can create some blank note-lets/greetings cards. Everything is planned out, it will all be great(!)

I have done a few colour variations on the Mac and have had to boost the colours to accommodate for printing on an inkjet printer…

The above pictures are straight out of Illustrator…

This one (above) is a photo from one of my inkjet test prints…which is great – I really like the more subtle colours...

The problem is my printer has suddenly decided to not register anything on my greeting card blanks. Every printout had my image in a different position on the card. If I'm going to do something (good or bad!) then at least it should be consistent! After about an hour, I decided to walk away and try another day! I didn't have a window high enough to throw the inkjet out of!!! Argggh! It's not difficult really. Is it?

I've also managed to finish and list another mirror, based on 'Concentricity'. I've used the concentric circles from the original design and added air around them to give a much lighter feel.

Concentricity

Welcome to the Dig The Earth blog!

I'm new to all of this, so you'll have to bear with me...

I finally managed to finish my latest mirror and get it online yesterday! Concentricity. This one seemed like such a simple idea, but has taken absolutely ages to complete. I'm sure my wife is already sick of the sight of this one!

I really like the finished mirror, very graphic, almost retro, and am already running this design across other items, which I hope to put in all of my online shops this weekend.
